Description
Book portrays the life of cattle trail namesake Jesse Chisholm. He was born in 1805 or 1806, a half breed of Cherokee and white ancestry and the son of Ignatius Chisholm. He apparently died April 4, 1868. Best known for the cattle trail named after him which moved from Oklahoma to Kansas. But he was active on the frontier long before the naming of the trail. Unfortunately he left no diaries or letters of personal papers that could be used to better document his life. Book includes the only known photograph of him.
