Article gives the history of George Bent, halfbreed son of trader William Bent and his Indian wife Owl Woman, as well as his involvement with the Sand Creek Massacre which happened on November 29, 1864. George as well as his half brother Charley, his sister Julia and his stepmother Yellow Woman were among the Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians who were attacked that day.
