The following territories are included: Nebraska (to Canadian border), Indian Territory, Texas, Upper or New California, Oregon (to Canadian border). A large portion of northern Mexico is shown, including the states of California, Sonora, Cinoloa, Chihuahua, Durango, Zacatecas, Cohahuila, Nuevo Leon, Tamaul. Names of 32 Indian tribes are shown, indicating their general locations. Six routes taken by explorers and emigrants are labeled, including the Oregon Trail, which has numbers along it denoting the distance in miles from Westport Landing, Missouri. Also includes a Table of Distances in upper right corner.
