Article relating the death and life of Anne Thomas, the first black person to head the Kansas City YWCA and an original member of the Panel of American Women, a national civil rights group founded in Kansas City. Her husband, Earl D. Thomas, was one of the first two black persons elected to the Kansas City City Council and was a longtime principal of Lincoln High School before he went into city politics.
