Description
On August 21, 2013 a group of Lawrence, Kansas residents and historians re-enacted the 1863 raid of the town using the social media site Twitter. As part of the 150th commemoration of the raid by William Quantrill's Confederate guerrilla forces, some three-dozen participants, portraying various Lawrence residents, tweeted updates as events would have unfolded during the actual raid. Organizers hope the Twitter story will "enliven the historical record and serve as an education tool."
