Photos (of James and his father William) and biographical sketch of James Oldham, "well known in business circles in Kansas City as president of the Sterling Remedy Company and secretary of the Wellington Mines Company," born in Kansas City in 1870. Description of his father William Oldham (1833-1897), a Santa Fe freighter native to Kentucky and coming to Kansas City in 1859, building "the Phoenix mill at the corner of [2nd Street] and Troost avenue," operating a grocery store at 22-24 East 4th Street, and building "the whole block at Troost and [8th Street] and a half block on Admiral boulevard at Harrison street."
