Photos and a biographical article (undated photocopy) about Chris Rutt, "an editorial writer on the 'St. Joseph Gazette'" and co-inventor with Charles Underwood of "Aunt Jemima Pancake Flour" (with its image composed by librarian Purd Wright) in Saint Joseph, Missouri in 1889. Description of Rutt's Pearl Milling Company organized there in 1888 with "the first ready-mix food ever developed commercially" invented there the next year.
