Note(s)
Transcribed article: A Corner Landmark to Go. The old Lyndon hotel, shown here at the northwest corner of Thirty-first street and Troost avenue, and adjoining shops, will be razed to make way for a 60,000-square-foot department store to be erected by the Jones Store company. The Withers Estate company, owner of the corner since 1905, will dismantle the existing property. On it will go a building with a basement for retail sales, a first floor and second floor for selling purposes. To be erected for occupancy under a long term lease, the new building will have walls to carry additional floors if needed later. Kansas City Star, October 05, 1947.
