Photos and biographical article about Reverend Alexander Procter (1825-1900), a country preacher in the Midwest starting in 1845 and becoming well-known in Independence. Born in Kentucky and moving with his family to Randolph County, Missouri in 1836 before traveling around Missouri and organizing "the orphans school for girls at Camden Point," Missouri in 1868 and co-founding "The Christian" newspaper published in Kansas City in 1869 (later becoming the "Christian Evangelist").
