Photos and article about the efforts to preserve Longview Farm from destruction by real estate developer Dean Goodman and zoning by the city of Lee's Summit, Missouri, for apartment buildings, etc. Description of the farm's history since its construction in 1912 by owner Robert Long and architect Henry Hoit through its portioning-off starting in 1968 (land donated by Loula Long Combs "to the creation of Longview Community College" and acquisition in 1978 by "the Army Corps of Engineers for the creation of Longview Lake").
