Transcribed article: Minutes after the snow had been scraped off Big Eleven Lake in Kansas City, Kansas, several young skaters took over between barricades erected by the city street department crews. They cleared the ice yesterday afternoon after it was pronounced safe for skating. Large fires were built on each side of the lake for skaters' warmth, and the usual large gatherings of ice fans are expected to make use of the ice during the cold weather.
