Description
The Peachtree restaurant located in the 18th and Vine area is moving to the new Kansas City Power & Light District in the spring. The soul food restaurant is looking for a location with more foot traffic. "Peachtree has a loyal following and brings a unique offering--homestyle comfort food such as Southern fried chicken; salmon croquettes; boiled, spiced, peel-and-eat shrimp; smothered pork chops; and the house specialty, peach cobbler. And the restaurant gives the district another entertainment component--live jazz." They will be located in Restaurant Row on the southeast corner of 14th and Main. "The Willis family opened the Peachtree Buffet at 6800 Eastwood Trafficway in 1996, and in 2002 they opened the Peachtree Restaurant at 1512 E. 18th St."

According to a newspaper article in The Kansas City Star, November 18, 2008, D17:2, the Peachtree Restaurant officially opened November 18, 2008 at 31 E. 14th Street on the southeast corner of 14th and Main streets in the Power and Light District.
