Photo and obituary for William Kimsey, a former slave dying at the age of 110 on October 2, 1969. Description of his life and career, "[b]orn into slavery March 20, 1859, in Louisville, Ky.," and brought to Missouri as a child by a white family named Jackson, then coming to Kansas City in the 1920s as a worker at "the Security Stove Manufacturing company on what is now Truman road." Four of Kimsey's children residents of Kansas City, including William B. Kimsey at 1015 Highland Avenue.
