Description
Between July 2006 to July 2007, "in the six counties--Johnson, Wyandotte, Clay, Platte, Jackson and Cass--the total population grew 1.26 percent to 1.74 million. Within that figure, the Hispanic population grew 5 percent. In 2007, Hispanics constitute 7.6 percent of the population in those counties, up from 7.3 percent in 2006." For Jackson County the Hispanic population grew more than 4 percent while both the black and white populations grew less than 1 percent.
