File contains two newspaper articles and two newspaper photos with captions, presumed to be from the Kansas City Call, although the first is not labeled as such. The first article is dated November 23, 1951, and titled �??Trial in Damage Suit for Sale of House to Negroes.�?� It concerns a trial about �??the sale of a house at 2944 Victor�?� that may have �??violated the terms of a restrictive agreement entered in by the property owners not to sell their homes to Negroes.�?�
The second article is labeled Kansas City Call, May 3, 1957, page 27, and titled �??Local Contractor to Participate in Housing Confab at Prairie View.�?� It concerns a housing conference in Texas attended by Kansas City, Kansas, contractor Wendell Robbins. The first photo with caption is labeled Kansas City Call, April 22, 1955, page 10 and titled �??Signs Display Christian Attitude,�?� regarding signs on residential lawns regarding blockbusting. The second photo with caption is labeled Kansas City Call, July 27, 1956, and titled �??Sign of the Times,�?� regarding again blockbusting and African Americans moving into a previously all or mostly-white neighborhood in Kansas City. |
