Portrait and description of Dr. William Keil (1811-1877), a physician, preacher, and founder of Bethel, Missouri, born in Prussia, Germany. Description of his life and career, emigrating to Missouri in the 1840s as a Methodist minister, founding his commune of Bethel and having some of its members establish "Ninevah, the most unique settlement in Adair County and one of the unique settlements of Missouri" in 1849.
