Review of the history of drive-in theaters in Missouri that made a comeback in the 1990s. Missouri's first official drive-in, The Drive In Theatre, opened at Des Peres in 1940. In 1954, there were 124 drive-ins in Missouri. In 2003, Missouri had 11, with two in the Kansas City area: the Twin Drive-Inn Theatre and I-70 Drive-In Theatre.
