The dedication of the Kansas City Airport, later called Municipal Airport, took place on August 17, 1927. Charles Lindbergh arrived in the "Spirit of St. Louis", participated in the dedicatory ceremonies including a parade then staying at the Hotel Muehlebach for the night. The vertical files in this collection were formerly a part of the department's regular vertical files.
