Transcribed article: The first large project to be completed in Kansas City, Kansas, this year, the new department store of Montgomery Ward & Co. tentatively has been scheduled to open Thursday, June 9. Of early American or colonial design, the building, fixtures and stock are said to comprise an investment of more than a million dollars to business in Greater Kansas City. The structure is located on the old Wyandotte County courthouse site at Seventh street and Minnesota Avenue. Kansas City Star, May 22, 1938.
