By majorities of 81% and 82%, Wyandotte County voters overwhelmingly approved gambling measures that would allow for a state-owned casino in Wyandotte County and the installation of slot machines at The Woodlands racetrack. The county plans to move forward with the $300 million casino resort project which is expected to open by 2010 and create over 2,000 jobs.
