Description
Congressman Ted Poe of Texas has requested the creation of a World War I memorial on the National Mall in Washington D.C. even though Congress designated Kansas City's Liberty Memorial as the National World War I Museum. Construction began on Liberty Memorial in 1921 and has been the only World War I museum to receive national recognition since that time.
