Description
The project (Wayne Miner Court housing project) was named for a Negro soldier from Kansas City who was killed in France three hours before the end of World War I. Miner had volunteered to carry ammunition to a unit that was pinned down by enemy fire. He was killed during the mission. A portrait of the World War I hero will be hung in the project community center.
