Biographical article, with portrait, about John William "Blind" Boone, or Blind Boone, a blind African American pianist of the late 19th and early 20th centuries in central Missouri. Boone was known for his remarkable and unique playing style and compositions (such as "Marshfield Tornado"), pre-figuring jazz and ragtime styles (but also including some ragtime in his compositions). He was born during the Civil War and died in 1927 in Columbia, Missouri.
