Description
Article on the debate surrounding the fate of Kemper Arena, which has been mostly unused since 2010. The American Royal, an organization with a 50-year lease agreement that includes veto power over decisions concerning the property, advocates tearing down Kemper Arena and replacing it with "a smaller agricultural and multipurpose center." However, Kansas City developers Foutch Brothers have proposed to convert the building to a regional youth sporting facility and are working to have it listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
