Description
Two members of the Jewish community were recognized by the University of Missouri-Kansas City Alumni Association at the 2010 Alumni Awards luncheon. Sculptor Rita Blitt, a 1952 graduate, received the 'Spotlight Award" for her artistic accomplishments. Paul Levy, a 1971 UMKC grad, was honored posthumously with the "Defying the Odds" award for his efforts to improve the lives of people with disabilities. Afflicted with multiple sclerosis, Levy worked to make the UMKC facilities and public transportation more accessible to the disabled.
