Kansas native Robert Dole visited the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas for the first time on Sunday, July 20, 2003. Dole comes from Russell, Kansas. KU has planned a four-day celebration of the new center. Activities celebrate World War II veterans with the formal dedication on Tuesday, July 22. Former President Jimmy Carter plans to attend. Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani will receive the first Dole Leadership Prize. A list of the celebration events are included with this article.
