Biographical sketch of Dr. Thomas Bryan Lester, or Thomas Lester (1824-1888), a physician and native of Virginia engaged in the Mexican War before coming to Kansas City in 1854. Builder of "the house afterward known as the Grand View Hotel, on the high bluff overlooking Main street" in 1858 and of his "old family mansion" in 1859 at 6th and Walnut Streets.
