Description
Residents of Westwood Hills, Kansas, a suburb designed by J. C. Nichols, are working to get the city placed on state and federal registers for historic places. Most of its homes were built between 1923 and 1943, and the self-promoted "'most beautiful little city in Kansas'" was the first of Nichols' projects to include his signature commercial strip in the 1920s. The article includes a history of the city as well as mentions of recent additions to historic registers. If successful, it would be the first Kansas town placed entirely on the national register.
