Out of 40,000 suggestions for new stamp designs, the U.S. Postal Service selected two new stamps with ties to Kansas City. "The post office's newset Love stamp, which uses artwork from Hallmark Cards' most popular and longest-running card design [a watercolor of a cart with pansies painted by Hallmark artist Dorothy Maienschein, first printed for a Mother's Day card in 1939], will have its ceremony April 22." The second design includes two scenes commemorating the Negro Leagues and will be released June 4, 2010.
