Lyricist Jerry Leiber, part of the songwriting team that wrote "Kansas City," died Monday, August 22, 2011. Leiber and his songwriting partner Mike Stoller also wrote the lyrics for such hit songs as "Hound Dog" and "Jailhouse Rock." Both men were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
