Illustrations and article about the history of the Sheffield Steel Company, started in 1887 as the Kansas City Bolt & Nut Company "in the valley of the Blue river" (later called the Sheffield industrial district or simply Sheffield district). Co-founded by Willard Winner and James Sternbergh as a tie-in with railroads and reconfigured in 1917 as a steel manufacturer.
