Local woman, Rose Kemp, known as a champion of women's rights and equal rights, died November 19, 2005, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. She was 72 years of age. She was regional administrtor of the Women's Bureau at the U.S. Department of Labor in Kansas City, a job she had since 1983. She has received many awards over the years.
