Article profiles Lee's Summit councilman Allan S. Gray. A graduate of Paseo High School and later Morehouse College, Gray returned to Kansas City in 1976 after earning a political science degree. He has since been involved in a number of community service efforts, including the Black Economic Union, Missouri Arts Council and Cultural Trust, and Missouri Council on Economic Education. He also founded Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey.
