Trained with Kansas City Philharmonic conductor Carl Busch and later composing various orchestras and songs such as "Suite of Old American Dances," "Symphonic Songs for Band," "Abraham Lincoln," "Hollywood," "Maria Malibran," Charleston Rhapsody," and "Symphony in D for the Dodgers."
