Photo and history of Richards-Gebaur Memorial Airport, established in 1941 as the Grandview Airport "as an auxiliary airport for the Olathe Naval Air Station" in Grandview, Missouri, named for Lieutenant Colonel Arthur Gebaur, Jr., "an Air Force pilot killed in the Korean War" and Lieutenant John Richards II, becoming Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base in the 1950s and then Richards-Gebaur Airport in the 1980s before closed in 1994 and renamed Richards-Gebaur Memorial Airport.
