Description of Johnson as a native of Virginia and founder of the Methodist Shawnee Mission in Kansas in 1831, killed at his home at 35th and Agnes Avenues at the end of the Civil War. Description of Spencer as a teacher and preacher at the Shawnee Mission from 1858 to 1860.
