Description
Article reports on Kansas City Startup Village, a community of tech-savvy entrepreneurs that have taken up residence in the area near 45th & State Line Road, as well as concerns by longtime residents as to how the influx of new businesses will impact their neighborhood. Entrepreneurs were attracted to Spring Valley neighborhood because it was the first "fiberhood" in Kansas City, i.e. the first neighborhood to get Google's high speed Google Fiber internet service. But locals have raised concerns about single-family homes in neighborhood being converted into commercial spaces, insufficient parking, and other issues that have come up as a result. Ideas for how the Startup Village community and Spring Valley residents will co-exist are also explored in the article.
