Description
Article describing the history of the Whatsoever Community Center located at 1201 Ewing St. in the Sheffield neighborhood. Orginally a soup kitchen founded in 1915 by a group of women from the Independence Boulevard Christian Church, Whatsoever evolved into an important community resource for families in the Northeast area of Kansas City. The author reminisces about his childhood days spent at the Center and examines reports that the building--originally constructed as a schoolhouse in 1889--is haunted.
