Obituary for Mrs. Frank Woodbury, Sr., "91, of 1225 Stratford road, who under another name wrote the mournful song of a mother's death, 'The Letter Edged in Black.'" Widow of an officer of "the Kansas City Talking Machine company" in the late 1800s also composing the song "When the Leaves Come Drifting Down," "first heard in Kansas City at the old Grand theater May 13, 1899."
