Description
Portrait and biographical sketch of Dr. Morrison Munford, "longer in continuous control of a metropolitan newspaper than any other western editor" with the Kansas City Times. Born in Tennessee in 1842 and serving the Confederacy in the Civil War before coming to Kansas City in 1869 as a physician and realtor, "publishing a monthly real estate paper called the 'Index'" and "la[ying] out Munford and Fancher's Addition to Kansas City." Purchaser of the old Kansas City Times newspaper in 1871 and soon taking over as editor.
