Article was written to celebrate the 80th birthday of Walt Disney's cartoon character Mickey Mouse. The first sound cartoon appeared 80 years ago. Mickey Mouse has appeared in more than 120 cartoons. The Kansas City connection to Disney and to Mickey Mouse is given as well as an up-date on the restoration of the McConahy Building at 31st and Forest Avenue which housed Disney's Laugh-O-Gram studio at one time. Also includes a Mickey Milestones timetable and a reproduction of six pages of a 36-panel storyboard which is reported to be the first drawings of the famous mouse.
