Note(s)
The first hotel [in Westport], after the Yoacham tavern, stood just east of the three-story brick building called the Harris Hotel. ..Yoacham's tavern was built by Daniel Yoacham, a Tennessean, about 1824; and was the first tavern built in Westport. It was a long log-house with a long porch across the front. It stood on Mill Creek, south of Westport avenue and one block west of Penn Street. The Harris Inn, or Hotel, as often called, was torn down in 1922.
