Description
Article explores this history of the annual football rivalry between Missouri and Kansas universities which dates back to 1891. The so-called "Border War" game gets its name from the bloody warfare raged by parties in western Missouri and eastern Kansas during the Civil War. Even the nicknames for both schools--the Tigers and Jayhawks--have roots in the border conflict.
