McCune Residential Center for boys is scheduled to close by the end of 2012. The center provides education, physical and mental health treatments, and other programs "for boys found guilty in Family Court of juvenile offenses." Jackson County officials estimate closing the 103 year-old center will save the county $2 million a year.
