Kansas City native Mark Edelman founded the Theater League with Rich Mais in 1977. The League's goal is to bring musicals from New York to Kansas City as well as nine other cities. The League built the Quality Hill Theater, improved the Midland, and helped put an addition on the Music Hall. Edelman has also produced shows and made recordings of "Jewish-themed parody rock songs".
