HNTB Corp., consultants for the light-rail plan for Kansas City, reported that there isn't enough money to fund the $1.5 billion proposed system. On the same day, the City Council learned that the petition to force the city to "throw out the plan or send it back to the voters" had enough valid signatures for them to take action. Structural issues are also reviewed. Includes a chart of expenses, "Light-Rail Cost Estimates."
