Description
The recipients of the Edward Tanner awards include El Dorado Inc. for architecture (Holbrook Loft); John Rufenacht Associates for interior design; and Outdoor Environments Inc. for construction. Edward Tanner (1895-1974) was a noted Kansas City architect, best known as principal designer for J. C. Nichols and the Country Club Plaza. "He also designed more than 2,000 homes in Kansas City and Johnson County, including State Line Road's elegant Bixby estate. In 1933 he realized plans for an entire town, Fort Peck, Montana; 13 years later, his alma mater, KU, dedicated his 90-seat Gothic Revival Danforth Cahpel." Includes color photographs.
