Article reports on efforts to have the Squier Park Historic District included on the National Register of Historic Places. The 16-block district is bounded by Armour Boulevard, The Paseo, 39th Street, and Troost Avenue. Developed in the late-1800s, Squier Park was a typical "streetcar surburb" that appealed to residents who worked downtown. An early resident was businessman James J. Squier who built a home at 37th and Troost known as Squier Manor.
