Description of his life and career as a native of Kentucky coming to Kansas City about 1855 as a medical partner of Dr. T. B. Lester at Main Street between 2nd and 3rd Streets, with residence at 5th and Walnut Streets. Successor to 5-term mayor M. J. Payne in 1860 and leaving Kansas City after his defeat for a second term to join the Confederacy.
