Photos and bio of Dr. Katharine Berry Richardson, or Katharine Richardson (ca. 1860-1933), co-founder of Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City and "described as the most important woman in Kansas City" at her death. Native of Kentucky coming to Kansas City in the mid-1890s with her sister Dr. Alice Berry Graham, practicing dentistry and residing in the Ridge Building before moving to 121 Clinton Place and founding Mercy Hospital for crippled children in 1897 (with a new building in 1916 on Independence Avenue and a "war at Wheatley Hospital where white nurses worked with black nurses in training)."
